Bright and Colorful Summer Wedding aboard Schooner Lannon in Gloucester, MA

Max and Liz exchanged their vows aboard the Schooner Lannon in the historic and picturesque harbor of Gloucester, MA. The ceremony took place on a beautiful summer day, with a light breeze carrying the scent of salt and sea through the air. The couple, their family and friends were all on board the stunning vessel, which made the day feel all the more special.

The bride looked absolutely stunning in a poofy white gown with lace detailing. She carried a colorful bouquet, which was a work of art created by the bride's mother. The bouquet was a riot of colors, featuring yellow and red roses, soft pink peonies, hot pink anemones, and a few sprigs of greenery. It perfectly complemented the seaside backdrop, and Liz beamed with joy as she held it.

As the sun began to set over the harbor, the ceremony came to a close and the couple made their way to their reception venue. They chose the historic 1640 Hart House in Ipswich, MA, which provided the perfect setting for a celebration of their love. The venue has been beautifully restored and is a stunning example of Colonial architecture, with original wide plank floors, exposed beams, and fireplaces in every room.

The couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious meal, and the wedding cake was a work of art in itself. The reception was decorated with a stunning portrait of the bride and groom aboard the Schooner Lannon, painted by Liz’s mother.

The party was in full swing, with guests dancing and celebrating the newlyweds. The love and joy of the day was palpable, and everyone in attendance felt lucky to be part of such a beautiful celebration. The day was a true testament to the power of love, and the couple's commitment to each other was evident throughout the entire celebration.

Riversbend, Essex MA Wedding / Timeless and Romantic

Paige and Max tied the knot at the beautiful Riversbend Restaurant in Essex, Massachusetts last summer. Their guests travelled from afar to witness them exchange their vows and celebrate into the night!

The ceremony took place in a private wooded area, with a view of the Essex River, so close you could nearly touch it. The gentle flow of the water served as a tranquil soundtrack to their vows. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the sprawling lawn of Riversbend, where they sipped refreshing beverages and snacked on hors d’oeuvres as they mingled in front of the fire pit.

The reception was held inside the main dining room of the restaurant, which featured vaulted ceilings and breathtaking views of the river and surrounding landscape. The reception space and dining tables were beautifully decorated with soft romantic florals and uniquely charming stemware.

The wedding portrait artist put the final touches on her painting as the night wore on, and as guests danced the night away on the wooden dance floor. The patio served as the perfect spot for guests to step outside to get a breath of fresh air and stargaze, while trying to distinguish twinkle lights from fireflies.

Dan & Amanda's Gloucester Bass Rocks Wedding

Photographing Dan and Amanda’s wedding at the Elks at Bass Rocks was definitely a vibe for me. I also got married to my husband there, so it has a soft space in my heart. Watching as two best friends with big huge smiles plastered on their faces get married…it just took me back. That feeling of walking down to the rocks in a giant poof of a dress, all to get the most amazing bridal portraits. Or that crazy dancing on the dance floor, surrounded by friends.

Amanda and Dan’s wedding day was filled with smiles and laughter…and some tears during the toasts. As you scroll through the images from their wedding, check how sunflowers kept popping up throughout the whole day—down to the song that Amanda walked down the aisle to, “Sunflower” by Post Malone.

Noah & Paige's Groveland Fairways Wedding / Groveland, MA

Imagine meeting someone, someone special, who makes you have that crinkly eye smile and butterflies in your stomach… when the world is on the brink of a global shutdown? That’s Paige and Noah. A true pandemic love story. They met in February 2020, right before the world would be thrown into chaos, at a party that neither of them were supposed to attend. They dated all throughout 2020, without actually going out on a date. But it all led to June 2021, when they had a true pandemic wedding—Zoom guests and all.

Romantic and Dramatic Coastal Bridal Session / Rockport, MA

Question: How many of you are happy with the bridal portraits from your wedding day? There can be a number of reasons why people are unhappy with their bridal portraits from their wedding day such as being short on time or having limited options for location. Sometimes couples are just too stressed on their wedding day to really feel comfortable in front of the camera. I was fortunate and my wedding photographer was amazing. Still, I would love to have another shot at my bridal portraits, get prettied up in my wedding dress again (maybe on an anniversary!), and make camera magic in a pretty location.

That’s exactly what Julliana and Rubmael decided to do after they weren’t completely happy with their pictures from their wedding day. Julliana is super talented with hair and makeup, and she did it herself. She even re-invented her bridal bouquet, making it herself out of light pink peonies.

We chose the perfect seaside location in Rockport, MA which was both dramatic and romantic. Scroll below to see how magic can be made when you combine a rocky coastal location with a glowy sunset. Intimate Wedding Ceremony Rockport, MA | Roger and Suz

Roger and Suz's 4th of July wedding was special and intimate in so many ways. While they exchanged vows, they surrounded themselves with those who matter most--their two daughters and well-loved family pet Pippi.  

I arrived early to capture some special moments as the family got ready--putting on makeup and jewelry, last minute hair adjustments,  playing a few chords on the guitar, and showering Pippi with hugs.  A friend of the family conducted the ceremony as the girls sneaked excited grins at each other.  The thing I loved the most about this beautiful at-home wedding ceremony was how relaxed and genuinely happy the entire family was.  

After the ceremony, Roger gifted Suz a pen with the lyrics of an Ed Sheeran song engraved on it-- "Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars."  Excuse me while I go melt into a puddle at the sweetness of it all.

Frank and Heather's Essex MA Beach Wedding

When Heather first contacted me to capture her beach wedding, she warned me that her and Frank were "not serious people," followed by an anecdote of a time that Frank was attacked by the cat because he had playfully placed a feather bandanna on his head.  

True to her word, Heather and Frank's beach wedding could only be described as playful, laid-back, and perfectly nautical. Heather's vision of her wedding day had me hooked at "beach", but when she mentioned "tidal island", "clam-bake", and arriving to the island in a canoe, I was swooning.  

Heather owns a nautically themed baby apparel boutique called My SeaBaby in downtown Rockport (visit her website), and her designs are precious.  Her sense of style was perfectly reflected in all the small touches she carefully planned for her wedding day.

Top of the Hub Reception Brunch Boston MA | Darren & Sam

Hi friends!

I'm back with another post highlighting a super-sweet wedding reception brunch that I photographed over the summer at the Top of the Hub in Boston.  Darren and Samantha had a small out-of-state family ceremony the weekend before, but it was just as important for them to celebrate their nuptials with all of their Boston friends!  

The thing that struck me the most about Darren and Sam's reception was the genuine affection that was a near-tangible element filling the room.  Not just the love that Darren and Sam had for each other, but the affection that Darren and Sam had for their friends and that their friends showed in return.  

So here we are--friends begin to arrive to the Prudential Center and are greeting with warm smiles and stunning views of Boston.

Intimate Wedding at Lake Quannapowitt, Wakefield MA | Beckee & Robbie

Sometimes things just fall into place.  When I was first asked to capture Beckee and Robbie's wedding at the lake in Wakefield, I had already been booked for a wedding on the Northshore that day.  Beckee and her family are good friends of mine, and I've known them for quite some time, so, naturally, I was pretty bummed. 

Fast forward a few hours later, and I receive a call from my bride telling me that her wedding would be postponed due to a family emergency.  When Beckee found out that I would be available to photograph her wedding, she was ecstatic!  (Like, really, I think she used that word.)

We quickly swapped bridal shot ideas and some Pinterest pics and got pretty jazzed up about the whole thing. Fast forward a few days, and it's the day of the wedding!  

Beckee and Robbie were united in marriage in front of their family and close friends at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, Massachusetts.  Beckee made a gorgeous bride.  As a hairstylist and makeup artist for over twenty years, she is really on top of her game. (Check out her beauty blog!) I don't think you need my words to tell you she looked stunning--I mean, just look at the pictures.  She even made her bouquet all by herself--like, what??

Beckee's three sons escorted her down the "aisle" where Robbie was waiting with his "best man," his lovely young daughter.  Beckee's father, Jack, gave the wedding talk, and even managed  to keep a dry eye the entire time. 

Afterward the family gathered together for one giant family photo.  Can you believe that this is just immediate family? (And that one more has been added to the bunch since then--welcome, baby Brock!)  The Beaudoin family is seriously one good-looking group of folks. 

The festivities were just beginning, and a backyard celebration complete with champagne and cake lasted into the night.
